Moirai Conservation and Research Inc. is proud to announce the publication of a book surveying the world’s longest-lived animals. Now available through Amazon and CreateSpace.
From the back cover:
It is estimated that there are 7.77 million species of animals, of which only 953,434 have been described and classified.
Studying the diversity of aging in organisms is akin to researching magic. Some organisms age and die as humans do, but there are many that achieve extremely long lifespans and others that display no signs of aging at all (negligible senescence). Even more fascinating are the organisms that age backwards. In this book you will find information about long-lived and immortal organisms. There is a profile for each organism that provides a short description of what is known about it and includes links to scientific articles and genome information. Please contact me if you would like to contribute. The hope is that this book will allow researchers quick access to information, and to identify areas that are in need of further inquiry. [Warning: While factual, this book is full of dark humor and sarcasm.]
