Studying the diversity of aging in organisms is akin to researching magic. Some organisms age and die as humans do, but there are many that achieve extremely long lifespans and others that display no signs of aging at all (negligible senescence). Even more fascinating are the organisms that age backwards. Below you will find information about long-lived and immortal organisms. There is a profile for each organism that provides a short description of what is known about it and includes links to scientific articles and genome information. Please contact me if you would like to contribute. The hope is that this website will allow researchers quick access to information and identify areas that are in need of further inquiry. To know the world around us is to know ourselves. Human aging is not unavoidable.
